Gord Tapp, who has acted as a vocal spokesperson for CREATE, was honored with a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal on Monday, May 13, 2013. The medal reflects the role that CREATE has played in shaping the discussion of the future of Chalk River Laboratories.

“Gord Tapp came to work at Atomic Energy in 1981 as a research technologist. He was elected president of the Chalk River Technicians and Technologists Union in 2009. Gord is highly committed to the future of Chalk River Laboratories, and seeks every opportunity to speak to the stability and opportunities of Atomic Energy of Canada in Chalk River” said Gallant.
